The things that you must ask yourself are whether you want to improve cardiovascular health only or overall health. Or you want to learn to fight for defending yourself or want to take part in any competition.

There are many gyms that offer cardiovascular classes. But some gyms allow the fight class where you can get hit. But most people do not like the fact that they will also get hit.

Check out different styles the academies are offering, and then decide what you want. Suppose you want to become combat ready. Then you can ask your trainer to give you one-to-one sessions and help you grab the technique efficiently.

2.      Class That Suits You

There are different categories of kickboxing. And for choosing the best, ask other people and teachers and then sign up.

You can also watch a class and know what the lessons are included. And also, check what the gender and age of your future class are and whether they will be good for you or not.

3.      Being Honest With Yourself

For reaching the perfect fitness levels, you must consult a doctor before you begin a new sport. Suppose you have any chronic condition. Then you must ask the trainer first.

Kickboxing is not an exercise program, but it is something more intense. The classes you will take will challenge your body, and it will have to function unusually. So, make sure that you are not having any problems because it can cause many complications in the future.

4.      Kickboxing Gear

You will have to select a gym to practice kickboxing professionally. For this, you will also have to buy kickbox gear for doing everything in a professional manner. You may ask your class teacher to help you choose things like ankle supports, headgears, and boxing gloves, etc.

You must know how to protect your head and face, and it is very important. Suppose you are actually planning to become a professional, then you must be aware that you can get punched on teeth, jaws, cheekbones, and lips, etc. So, you have to take great and extra care of them.

Another thing that you must keep in mind is that whatever you will wear during kickboxing must not be too loose or very tight. Moreover, you will also have to take a water bottle and towel with you always.

5.      Eat Well

You must fuel yourself up at the regular time. You must eat well and healthily. The more you eat fruits, vegetables, grains, etc., the more strength you will gain, and you will become healthier and stronger.

You can also take carbohydrates as they are the best source of energy. If you intake something before doing a workout, then the body will maintain the sugar levels, and your muscles will also have high energy in them.

Make sure that you are entirely hydrated before doing the strenuous workout. It is because dehydration can cause many complications. You will not be able to perform well if you do not keep yourself hydrated enough.

Try to drink at least 1 glass or cup of water after every 15 minutes, so you do not face any dehydration issues at all.

Kickboxing workouts

Suppose you want to do kickboxing at home before going to start it in gym class. Then we have a simple guide for you. You will not need any equipment at all, and you will be ready for doing exercise.

  1. Firstly, you have to do criss-cross jumping jacks for at least 30 seconds.
  2. After that, do knee ups for 30 seconds.
  3. Then you have to do split squat jumps for 30 seconds.
  4. After that, you have to do squats, including front kicks and jumping front kicks, for 30 seconds.
  5. Then do burpees, mountain climbers, and spider man pushups each for 30 seconds.

Repeat the same things after 15 minutes.

Things to Know

You must be cardio-focused or in complete contact when doing kickboxing. It is not only for taking part in kickboxing tournaments. But if you want to stay healthy, you can continue it.
